Racing INTRO PROGRAM

Novice/early stages: U11-U15

RACING INTRODUCTION (RI) is for the newest youth members of our club. Many of our younger RI paddlers come directly from our Canoe Kids program. Our older RI members are joining the sport a little later. RI is designed to help these new competitive paddlers develop their technique and skills. We have four different sections of Racing Intro in 2023. Three for our 11- 15 year olds (Sections 1, 3 and 4) and one RI U10 group (Section 2). The RI U10 is a great option for paddlers who would consider Canoe Kids but would like a full summer program instead of just two weeks. All groups include significant oversight and hands-on instruction. All groups are SUMMER ONLY (no spring or fall hours).

This is our FUNdamentals stage where we emphasize the overall development of a child’s physical capacities, fundamental movement skills including agility, balance, coordination and speed.
All RHCC programs require swimming ability: Lifesaving Society Swim Levels Swimmer 5 or Red Cross Level 6.
