Competitive YOUTH PROGRAMS

Welcome to the Richmond Hill Canoe Club Competitive Youth paddling program. We have
something for all ages and skill levels so please review the programs and find the one best suited
to you. All RHCC programs are led by qualified coaches. All indicated ages are directional. If you are
unsure about which program to register for, please reach out to Robert Stott, our head coach
or Mary Chambers, our registrar, and we’ll help you find the right program.

Youth Athletes work with their coach to perform at their best and move up levels when they are
ready.  Intro to Racing and Racing Development paddlers take part in intra and some inter-club
level competitions. Competitive U14+ athletes compete at the inter-club level. Advanced athletes
compete at Provincial to National levels. High Performance (HP) athletes compete at the National
and sometimes International level.

All full season athletes will have a two week vacation from August 19 (Saturday) to September 5
(Tuesday), except for those competing at the Canadian National Championships. For those programs

running into the fall, scheduling will be announced near the end of summer, but expect it to be similar

to our spring schedule.

*For youth under 12, who are new to paddling and prefer a two-week program, please check out
our Canoe Kids program.

All RHCC programs require swimming ability: LSS Swimmer 5 or Red Cross Level 6.

Volunteer Hour Deposit Guarantee:

Your Spring/Summer registration includes a commitment that you will fulfill your volunteer hours. If you do
